Great question.
The truthful answer is, I don’t know why you should… I don’t know anything about you! But at a guess, perhaps you’ve heard good things? All I know right now, is that something about it has piqued your interest.
Maybe you’re wondering what all the fuss is about?
The reason you should try EFT, is because it is absolutely life changing. Which sounds quite dramatic I know. Possibly a bit over the top? But it changed mine. EFT changes the lives of my clients.
Ok, time for some truth bombs. Some of my clients have come to me, because they’ve tried every other conventional routes to feeling better. They’ve been to therapy or counselling for their ‘issues’. Or they’ve invested in coaching, or mentoring to make yet another go of their business. Yet somewhere, these routes are just. not. working.
There is a block. A belief. A trauma. Or a fear that they can’t get over, or get past.
EFT works by reprogramming your mind. You KNOW you’re a grown up, and LOGICALLY you should just be able to get ‘over it’ and get on with stuff. But that damned amygdala won’t let you get past it. It’s the bit in your brain responsible for responding to fear – and it chooses flight (run away) or fight (stay and argue) – or even freeze (just do nothing and the problem will go away). It operates as if we’re still in the neanderthal era, when our fears really were things like the sabre toothed tiger. Today’s fears are things like being judged, being ‘found out’ or getting things wrong.
Our response can fall into one of the below categories – which one resonates with you?
EFT deals with the amygdala. It disables the extreme, unwanted behaviours mentioned above. By tapping on acupressure points on the face and upper body, it sends a safety signal to the amygdala telling it to relax, which in turns, tells our body it’s ok to relax.
In real life this looks like:
Client: I don’t know why I’m not moving forward with my business / life. I KNOW what I want, I just seem to be blocked from actually doing it. WTF!
Me: Lets figure it out together. When did you first feel like this?
Whilst we tap together, we explore the feeling the client actually has, when she first felt like this, and what was happening at that specific time. Usually, clients are able to recall an incident, or a moment when something happened – and from then on, a block starts to form. They might have been scared as a child, or unsettled in a certain situation.
The client is then able to safely comfort their younger self, release any pent up emotion and identify what it is that they really want to do.
It really is magical. And a true honour to be able to help people figure out what the hell is going on! And to move past whatever is stopping them from living the life of their dreams.
EFT is a really powerful technique and I want to share it with the world. It’s not just for the ‘woo’ minded, or the hippy dippies of the world. It is for you, and me, just Joe Blogs trying to go about our lives.
